On the Poconos Horseback Riding and Great Falls Bus Tour, you will experience the second most powerful waterfall on the East Coast - second to only Niagara Falls.  You'll also visit one of the largest and oldest working dude ranches the United States, with the opportunity of no less than 2 trail rides.

On this tour, you can also enjoy at no additional cost: Archery, a Swimming Pool, Row Boats, Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, and Horseshoes.  Includes round-trip transportation from Manhattan.

For an additional fee at the ranch, you can also enjoy a Rifle Range.

What to Bring and Wear:

  • ID: Due to heightened national security, you will need to bring a valid photo ID.
  • CLOTHES: Dress for the weather. For trail rides, you must wear long pants and closed shoes; helmets will be provided. Bring swim wear and a towel if you want to swim.
  • WATER: In a plastic bottle. Especially on hot days, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
  • MOSQUITO REPELLANT: containing deet
  • CAMERA: With extra film/memory. You will experience breath-taking scenery.
  • SUN SCREEN: Especially on sunny days.
  • CASH: Although this tour is classified as an "all inclusive," it is advisable to bring some cash for optional activities, souvenirs and gratuities for guides, which are left to your discretion.


Upon arrival at the convenient Manhattan departure point, you will be greeted by your tour guide for the day and you will sign the required liability waivers. After departure, a light breakfast will be served on board the coach.

On the first stop, you will experience the second most powerful waterfall on the east coast - the 77-foot Great Falls of the Passaic River. Second to only Niagara Falls, this waterfall was the base for the first major water power system in the United States and is located in a National Historic District.

Then the tour heads to the foothills of the Pocono Mountains where you'll visit one of the largest and oldest working dude ranches in the United States. At the ranch, you can enjoy numerous activities. The main activity is, of course, horseback riding. You will have the opportunity of no less than 2 trail rides, one before lunch and one after lunch. The trail ride is led by an experienced rider who will see to your safety and point out some of the interesting nature along the way. The trails will lead you through pristine woods and meadows and wildlife viewing is very likely as well. This trail ride is both for experienced and inexperienced riders.

Departure from the ranch in late afternoon makes the return to Manhattan at approximately 7:00 pm.

Can I take my child on the tour?
Due to the nature of this tour, we DO NOT allow any children under 8 years old. Every child under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Parent or legal guardian must sign liability waivers for any minor child.

Can I smoke on the bus?
No, but smoke stops will be made.

Does the bus have restrooms?
Yes, the bus is equipped with a lavatory.

What language is spoken on your tour?
All tours are guided in English. Upon prior request for groups of 12 people or more, a translator can be provided. However, a translator is really not needed; the beauty of mother nature speaks for itself.

Do I need to be in great physical shape to join your tour?
No, this tour is based on leisure adventure. Anyone in relatively good health can participate. Even so, we strongly recommend that people with the following medical conditions DO NOT take this tour:

Recent surgery
Muscle injuries effecting walking
High blood pressure
Previous heart conditions
Difficulties with ascending and descending stairs

There is only a little walking on this tour, but people with back problems should not join this tour.

Will your tour accommodate an individual in a wheelchair or with a stroller?
Unfortunately, no. Due to the fact that most of the venues visited are natural habitats, there is no wheelchair or stroller accessibility.

How safe are the tours?
All possible steps are taken to ensure your safety. All tour guides have basic first aid qualifications. We pride ourselves on running safe tours and reserve the right to change a tour itinerary without any notice to protect participants from any injuries. The tours are carefully structured to minimize any potential injuries and there are rules to be followed to ensure your safety. PLEASE NOTE: Joining this tour is at your own risk.

What is the lunch like?
Your guides do their best to ensure that your lunch will always be a quality experience. They have chosen great partners and all menus have been taste-tested. Lunch will either be at a diner/restaurant or a box/picnic lunch outdoors.

Non-alcoholic beverage will be served during lunch. Vegetarian options will always be provided.

Can I/we consume alcohol or take drugs during or before a tour?
No. Apart from essential medication, drug use and consumption of alcohol is NOT permitted prior to or during our tour, except where alcohol beverages can be purchase during the lunch break.

Participants suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to join our tour. Participants suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the tour will be removed.
